PACT Coalition

The PACT Coalition is a group of individuals from tobacco prevention organizations and public health agencies committed to reducing the impact of tobacco on Californians. The mission of the PACT Coalition is to educate local and state elected officials about the social, health and economic impact of tobacco and tobacco-related disease in California and to serve as a resource on local and statewide tobacco prevention issues.

The PACT Coalition hosts Capitol Information & Education (I&E) Days each spring in Sacramento, California which brings about 150 people to the Capitol each year to educate their state legislators on tobacco control issues.

Occasionally the PACT Coalition honors outstanding legislators with a Torch Award. The honorees are honored at the annual Meet & Greet which is part of the I&E Days event. The award expresses the  gratitude of the Coalition to the legislators for their commitment to improving the health of all Californians and for carrying the torch for tobacco control.
