California Legislature

The Legislature is comprised of 120 members, 80 Assembly Members and 40 Senators. Assembly Members serve two-year terms and Senators serve four-year terms. Under term limit restrictions, individuals are allowed to serve up to three terms in the Assembly and two terms in the Senate for a maximum total of 14 years of service in the State Legislature.
